The difference between progressive and conservative, between the Left and Right, starts with an overlap. Both feel that they didn’t get a fair share, they didn’t get what should be rightfully theirs. The difference is that the Right assumes that inequality is inherent, natural, and eternal. The Left assumes that inequality is socially inclined, and inhuman. There should be differences, but not inequality. A conservative thinks–although he believes that inequality is a natural law– that he should have more, while others should have less. In order to justify his entitlement he creates a narrative nexus, a justification myth like racism, sexism, nationalism and so forth to confirm his superiority.
